Danny Buchanan Memorial Trophy 30/4/2011

Some 45+ members played for the Danny Buchanan Memorial Trophy.  Danny passed away last year and his wife Linda donated the trophy for this copetition.  Linda watched the game with her daghter Lindsey who flew over from Scotland for the occasion.  As well as being a popular and skillful bowler Danny always loved the fun Chicken and egg format of bowls.  This was the theme for the competition and an enjoyable game was had by all who took part.   The overall winner was Hilary clarke who won the trophy and the chicken.  Second place went to John Mullarkywho went home with the wine and Barbara cooper scrambled home for the eggs.

La Siesta Easter Bonnets  25/04/2011

The Christmas Special was held at the Portico Mar restaraunt on the 16/12/2010 and what  good time we had. The entertainer was John the Fiddler and he certainly lived up to his name what a fantastic musician he is. He had everyone dancing and singing and letting their hair down. Rumor has it that Enid Chapman had mussels she never new about after jigging the night away.

There was a very good raffle thanks to the many members who donated gifts and George Richardson will be forever gratefull for the lovely teddy bear he won.

The members once again decided not to send Christmas cards to their fellow bowlers and to make donation to The Preventoria De Gandia
the Charity that is run by three nuns who care for children. A raffle run by Lyn & Jim Hudson  raised 100 euros and plus our donations we raised 315 euros which will be very welcome as they have to rely on charity to keep going. Thank you everyone.
